Interviews taking place today!

Here at the Playa de Arlow we like to provide a variety of entertainment and leisure activities for our clients.  Alongside this, we also hire out the Playa to companies for corporate events and private parties.

Today we embark on a new venture when we host the first ever interviews for your DREAM JOB.  Those wishing to apply are asked to attend, suitably dressed, in the outfit that best represents their dream job.  The management will be on hand to guide applicants through the process which will include a formal interview and team building exercises.

We are pleased to announce that we have had a very good response to the advert placed on Facebook and we are expecting quite a few applicants.

We will update you with details of the successful applicant when we have made our decision

Thank you

Upcoming events at the Playa de Arlow!

Here at the Playa we are always looking for new ideas and events to entertain you.  It is, therefore, with great pleasure that we announce the first ever PSYCHIC FAIR, which will take place in the newly refurbished community area this Saturday, from 10am unti 4pm

As well as many stalls and attractions, including an appearance by (the now almost forgotten) Mystic Meg who, it has to be said, hasn’t worn too well….

……we are pleased to announce that Derren Brown will be making a guest appearance.

This is not THE Derren Brown, we couldn’t get him as he is on holiday on the Isle of Wight.  This is Derren Brown of Pitsea, the psychic medium who, it is said, inspired the other Derren Brown and who, indeed, allowed him to use his name.

Please do attend.  All proceeds go toward the Retired Psychics Association who badly need your support, due to unforeseen circumstances…..

Playa de Arlow’s Nature Reserve now open to the public!

You may think that the Playa de Arlow is all about having fun.  Well, it is, obviously.  But we are also very proud of our best kept secret –

Playa de Arlow’s Wildlife and Nature Reserve

Below are some recent snaps taken of the wildlife that can be found in the reserve, if you are very patient and very quiet

If you are VERY lucky, you will see some of the rare insect species that are to be found here. I wasn’t, so here is a bee.

Spotted this morning, a frequent visitor to the Playa, a lesser spotted Essex parrot. Sometimes known as ‘sparrows’, these little visitors are quite bold and have even been known to attack humans when hungry.

Here we have a pair of Albanian Eagles who must have just dropped in for a snack. We rarely see anything other than sparrows and pigeons so you can imagine our excitement when we spotted these!

Finally, here is a very rare glimpse of a lion. You may have heard about him recently in the news. We are very happy to say that he returned home of his own accord and now resides right at the back of the garden, sorry, wildlife reserve, or in our bedroom if it is raining. He’s quite harmless and a very private creature so we were thrilled to see him peeping out from the woods.

Playa de Arlow Spa now open!!!!

As the refurbishment continues, we are delighted to announce the addition of our spa and beauty treatment area.  We here at Playa de Arlow are dedicated to making your stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible and we are extremely proud of our new jacuzzi, featured below.

The new spa opens tomorrow and for the first 20 guests we are offering a free go in the jacuzzi AND free treatments up to the value of £2.50.  Book now to take advantage of this special, once-in-a-lifetime, offer!

We hope to see you there!

The Refurbishment continues……

The refurbishment continues and is almost finished.  Along with an upgrade to all existing rooms, we are building a huge new leisure complex.  This will include a bar, casino, and a large hall for entertainment and special events.

Despite the major changes going on, here at the Playa de Arlow we strive to maintain our exclusivity and the intimate, personal touch that we feel we are best known for.   Regular group events will still take place while the building works are ongoing and we are pleased to announce a beach run tomorrow morning at dawn.  This is a popular event so come early as the beach is only small.

Major developments

Hello guests

Well, there have been some big goings on here at the Playa de Arlow over the last couple of days!!   First of all, as you can see, we have moved to bigger premises.  This was a planned move and was necessary as the popularity of our exclusive resort continues to grow.  We hope you like the new resort and will enjoy the many new facilities we now have on offer.  This move also means we have room for bigger and better events and we will keep you posted about these!  We still have some work to do here so we hope you will bear with us and enjoy the bar and pool area, which are both splendid.

Without wanting to worry anyone, we have also had to delay things slightly because somebody left the gate open yesterday, during the move, and the lion got out (again!).  He’s a friendly beast, and only eats small children so guests at the Playa need not worry as we are child unfriendly here, as you know.  However, it has got into the press and there has been all sorts of fuss over it, with people wondering why we have a lion at a beach resort and so on.  This has obviously delayed our move so we do apologise and ask you to be patient while we sort this out.

Oh and if anyone sees a lion wandering around by the pool area, it’s ours.

Well, here we are….

Whilst Playa de Arlow continues to enjoy posting on Facebook, the management felt it was time to open this unique and rather special place to the world and decided to create a blog.  And here it is.  We have also decided to allow contributors to post their own items, subject to approval by the management of course.

We hope you will visit Playa de Arlow often and join in the fun.
